What is POPEYE magazine?
POPEYE magazine is the “Magazine for City Boys”. The founders printed this on the cover of the magazine when it debuted in 1976. What’s a “city boy”? The term doesn’t appear in the dictionary and no expert panel could define it. So we felt we should explore every aspect of what this “city boy” might be. After decades of debate, it still makes for a topic of lively discussion. It can be a style or a way of thinking. To get an idea of what makes a city boy, read POPEYE magazine.

When I was 20 years old.
It’s the second time to deals with “20 years old”. Because, there are so many people who we would love to know how they were like at that time, and think about what turning twenty is anyway. It doesn’t necessarily mean things would get nicely going after coming of age. Even if we try to turn over new leaves very hard, those efforts may be in vain. The age twenty, however, is a great opportunity to make actions as we believe we will learn from those experiences anyway and that’s the way to broaden our world. You reap what you sow. There will be a time for us to look back our good old days in the future and what we should do now is soaking ourselves in whatever we are interested in. We hope the 31 people’s 20 years old stories in this issue help you realizing how precious the time is.
